SOUNDS FROM ROSWELL

Dance artist and idie musician, Gene Brown, produced his own freshman album, Love, To Me, IS.... Good Vocal Work, Good Lyrics, Very DANCE FUNCTIONAL.

Released on Roswell Recordings, Love, To ME, Is... revives the ol' school concept album. The cd imaginatively digs in to a theme of experiencing love on different levels. The lst cut, and most popular mp3 download in the collection, " Magic Moment"- is full of synth surprises, spilling opening lyrics that sets the tone for the cd as well .**" Love dis-appears to re-appear, forever. Its a ring. So mystic ring come fall upon two embracing again." Mr. Brown's extended vocal tones soar through choruses of the naively-innocent- funky-melodic "Has To Be Love" . He takes us through a realness of love lost, laments into the string laden "Went And Got Away," then jazz-ly slips into the super cool dance/house spoken- word track, "The Scattered Eye". In "The One You're With", as a messenger with a message, Gene Brown gives us resounding delivery of voice accompanied by tribal conga calls and gosple/dance guitar strains, beckoning us to know, and "Love The One You're With."

This edgy cd, is a well-written/executed collection of 9 original dance songs and a reprise- reminescent of the late seventies.
