notes

Odds are, you may have already heard Gene Moore’s work. He has quite a few music credits to his name ranging from commercial artists to jingles to sports anthems.

Gene was recently shown performing each night during the Olympic Medal ceremonies in Italy in a worldwide multimedia project called One Olympic. Gene’s guitar solo thrilled over 200,000 visitors per evening for 19 nights.

Gene also composed, performed and recorded the music/vocal track of the US Soccer stadium chant titled, "Goals, Goals Goals." This song plays over the giant sound systems, multiple times during every U.S. stadium soccer match.

Are you a Kiss fan?! He also co-wrote a song made famous by Ace Frehley from Kiss titled "Insane" which has appeared on at least 2 of Ace's solo efforts as well as VH-1's Metal Mania hosted by Ed Trunk.

While fronting the band Restless, Gene sang the New York Giants Superbowl victory song, "Go Giants Go" in 1986. This song held the #1 slot on the K-Rock Countdown for 3 consecutive weeks.

He has also composed and performed many music scores for radio & TV commercials including a Xerox radio campaign featuring the voice of James Garner as well as an AT&T television campaign featuring the voice of Dick Cavett.

In the political arena, Gene has scored soundtracks for election campaign videos for candidates including Tom Ridge, John Ashcroft, Bob Dole and believe it or not, the George W. Bush presidential campaign video.

Gene’s latest CD, “I Give Up” is a culmination of years of experience in music and life journeys. Please read some reviews below to hear what others are saying about this truly unique CD.

  • Accessible Genius. This CD touched me so deeply at one point I had tears streami
    author: Mark Shepard

Gene Moore writes songs and performs and arranges them in a way that is universal and pertinent to our lives. I spent an hour listening to this CD and there were a number of times when the open hearted emotion was resonating something deep in me. By the last tune I had tears streaming down my face. The production as always with Gene Moore's work is flawless, the arrangements capture a "live" feel. The lyrics do for me what lyrics should. They challenge me, touch me, soothe me, connect me and often catch me off guard emotionally.

was admittedly cautious or skeptical at first listen. gene's ability to play guitar spoiled many of us and perhaps overshadowed his brilliance as a singer songwriter. he has clearly found his inner soul and i find it incredible what a true artist can do when he is allowed to create on his own terms. this is BEAUTIFUL..!!! Definitely should be added to any collection...!!!

  • You better not skip this one...

  • Music For The Soul
    author: Steve P.

Modern materialism and superficiality have strangled our ability to delve deeper into the human spirit to better understand and appreciate each other. Gene Moore's inspiring collection of ten original songs attempts to break that barrier and challenges us to, "peel off the layers we're under to discover the gift in disguise." These are personal and reflective songs of life experiences depicting the struggles associated with the searching for answers and the resulting suffering caused by the inevitable percentage of questionable choices made. Indeed, songs about dark, foreboding subjects such as substance abuse, domestic violence and death are certainly weighty material to cover, however they are tempered by Gene's optimism of the innate good in all of us and the indomitable resiliency of the human spirit. At their core, these are songs of hope and the opportunities available to all of us, through spiritualism and Christianity, to open our minds and recognize and receive the good in everyone. Gene is able to express these messages clearly in his music without being judgmental or preachy. Regardless of the lyrical messages however, the words count for nothing if the music doesn't move you. Simply stated, the musical composition and instrumentation are outstanding and you'll find yourself singing along to the catchy choruses. Gene is responsible for all the instruments and arrangements and absent, IMHO, some additional vocal harmonies on "I Give Up" and chunky horns on "If You Were Mine", they are first rate. Check out the song, "Time Flys", a soaring guitar instrumental quite simple in its progressions yet so expansive that each note resonates, captivating and transfixing the listner into a messmarizing and reflective state of mind. This is an exciting debut effort from a wonderful singer/songwriter who, "let go of the wheel and listened to that voice within" to create a very introspective and personal recording for which anyone who truly takes the time to listen to will be better for it. BRAVO!

  • WOW - just fantastic
    author: Victoria

It's so good it's left me speechless. He writes fabulous songs and certainly does them justice in these arrangements. And he plays it all himself! Best stuff I have heard in a long, long time.

  • Subtle Intensity and Passionately Effortless
    author: Tom

It’s Sunday morning. You go to your dresser looking for your favorite pair of jeans just out of the wash. As you wiggle into them, you know that the longer you wear them, the more they will stretch and the more comfortable you will become. That’s what it’s like listening to Gene on this CD. Each song draws you closer and closer until they are all just one big life experience. The songs and the music shimmer without ever being cluttered. Gene shows you a subtle intensity whether in the percolating guitar on “I’ve Got You” or the smoldering phrasing of “If You Were Mine” or “On My Own”. The music is passionately effortless! As you listen you become instantly comfortable, challenged and humbled. The lyrics deal with complex emotions in a personal and spiritual way. Gene’s songs have a way of pulling you in, showing optimism and pessimism and then pulling the emotional rug right out from underneath you. It is an introspective work which crawls into the corners of your mind; lurking and waiting to be attended to. Bravo Gene and thanks for sharing this work with us all!

  • Something for everybody
    author: Linda B.

Something for everybody here, and all of it is easy to listen to. Catchy, meaningful lyrics and tunes had me singing along immediately. The instrumental is all good, but the electric guitar spots REALLY got my attention. Great first effort ... I'm already waiting for the next one!

  • AWSOME!!!!!

This is a great cd and the insterments sound really great with the songs. Your going to be a really good artist Mr.Moore and thank you for the cd

  • I can see my life in each of your songs.
    author: Suzanne

It could be that maybe I see myself in your songs because you've been in my life for so long and you know me so well. It could also possibly be that I see myself in your songs because of who I am and how well I can relate anything to my own trials and triumphs. I think, however, that I see myself in your songs because your songs speak to anyone who has ever laughed out loud or cried to themselves, for people who have made monumental mistakes or for those who have made mountains from which they can see the world. You've always had a way of helping people open their eyes. Thank you for sharing your music with such devotion. I really think that anyone listening will find themselves saying, "Hey, that song is about me!!!" (smiley face, exclamation point)

  • author: Grandpa Moore

Gene has captured the latest sound of modern music in a very talented rendition of self composing, accompanyment and singing. It is very relaxing, yet awesome, to listen to. This is a truly worthwhile CD.

  • Finally ! A tallented lyric writer tunes' in to the real world...
    author: Steve

This guy's a real talent, the instrumental track # 6 reminds of a cross between Johnson and Satriani. If he would add a little more harmony utilizing some backup vocals, he will make the Radio.
