Album Notes

Open Sky Artworks: established Feb 3, 2006.
Open Sky Artworks was founded and developed by me,
Genesis Briggs aka Lo-Key. I have been a recording
artist since I was fourteen and have produced five projects
including two albums. Since my first album, its safe to say
that I've learned many things about the music industry
(that is...from the underground perspective.)

As a child, I thought entering the music business (getting
signed to a major label) would be easy. I quickly learned
that sending an unsolicited demo to a major record
company was a waste of time. After this experience, I
decided to sign with a local record label. I learned a lot
from this incident. Let's just say that the record label I
signed to didn't exactly handle my interests like I
expected. Before I knew it, I was advertising, promoting
and distributing my product ALL ON MY OWN! This was while
I was a High School Junior, playing basketball and holding
down a job to pay for studio time. Don't get me wrong
though, if it wasn't for this experience, I wouldn't know the
components of running my own business today.

I started Open Sky Artworks in order to give unrecognized,
underground artists a chance to have their message
heard, words read and their art seen.
