Album Notes

Genie Webster writes deep and powerfully personal songs that are both uplifting and touching. Sensuous, sassy, and always surprising, Genie's rich and exquisite vocals are as smooth and intoxicating as cognac.

Genie's debut album is an eclectic collection of songs ranging from kitschy swing (Pyro Persuasion) to folk (Heart of a Friend) to country (Jackalope) to danceable pop (Walk the Dream).

Originally intended to be a high-end demo to shop to record labels, the album turned out so good that Genie said, 'Heck with the record labels, I'm going to market this baby on my own.' And so she founded her own record company, Temenos Music and joined the entrepreneurial ranks of Indie artists.

Originally from Cleveland, Ohio (Rock & Roll Capital of the World), Genie moved to Reno, Nevada (Biggest Little City in the World) in 1995 to pursue a music career. In any other market she would have had to take a mundane day job while she got her original project together. In Reno she was able to work full-time in music, singing in casino lounge bands, sometimes five sets a night, six nights a week. This was excellent training ground for her real work, which is to write and perform her own material.

Genie still works the occasional casino job, but she is clearly on her way to 'walking her dream' of getting her own music out into the world.
