Album Notes

In between numerous stints in rehab and just before Alzheimer's disease took a firm root in his feeble, little mind, Kurtis Gentile found a few months to finish his debut album.

That's right kids, Kurtis and producer Joe Ongie took all their guitars, drums, pump organs, accordions and $1 Russian harps tossed them in a burlap sack, shook them up, threw them in the air and recorded the noise they made when they hit the ground. Voila! Kurtis had made an album.

So tell your friends about the blessed event. Better yet, just buy them a copy of the album to make up for that lousy birthday present you bought them last year.

The melodies are breath-taking. The music will inspire you. The lyrics will make you weep and want to call your mommy.

Don't miss your chance, buy this CD and listen to it. Even if you don't like the music, it makes an excellent coaster.

REVIEWS

Pop music for grown-ups

Another magical Joe Ongie production, this is a truly gorgeous collection of music. Bittersweet lyrics and gentle vocals against a backdrop of delicate melodies, Gentile can spin a sad tale, but leave your heart unbroken. Standout tracks include "Write Down Your Name," "Everyone Should Know Her" and "Tempted to Stay."

Has the right "POP" for today's pop music!
author: Jack Gubanc
With so many genres of music from which to choose today, it is easy for pop music to be relegated by a music consumer to the "back burner" type of music that is released by Britney Spears and the other Top 40 pop mediocre talent! Kurtis Gentile renews this listener's interest in pop music in that he concentrates on well-crafted songs that utilize his vocal talent and quality instrumentation. Joe Ongie has done a quality job of producing this disc. Pop music of this quality will always have a place in an eclectic music collector's library. Kurtis is producing music that will please fans of Barenaked Ladies, Paul McCartney and all of us who thought Matthew Sweet's "Girlfriend" was a pop gem! Buy this disc!

Just listened to A Reason And A Rhyme again and its a fine album and the HITS are definitely Not The Real Me and Tempted To Say. Perfect Stranger is really nice and reminds me a bit of a Paul McCartney song. Wish Me Well reminds me of Josh Rouse and is a good song. I like Kurtis's upbeat stuff when the music kicks in with a punch ... the upbeat stuff as they say. Everyone Should Know Her is lovely too...Kurtis has a sweet but not too sweet voice and he's mellifluous. The music flows gently along. The songs all fit each other. Well-done, Kurtis!
