Album Notes

Kriss Erickson has been a freelance writer/artist for over twenty years. Her musical inspiration stems from surviving twenty-plus years of severe emotional and physical abuse at the hands of her parents, and from escaping a fundamentalist group that used heavy doses of mind control.

She received a Master's of Art in Counseling in 2003, a useful tool for deciphering the human heart and spirit. Another valuable tool for healing and recovery was and continues to be her closeness to the earth and to nature. She enjoys making everything from soap to herbal teas from scratch and grows many fruits, vegetables and herbs on her 3/4 acre property in Western Washington.

She collaborates closely with her husband and lead guitarist, Michael, in her creative efforts.

This is a wonderful CD because of its simplicity. The message is clear and is not overly orchestrated. The lyrics are disturbing but show how courage and determination can give new meaning to people hurt as children. I love this CD as it connects deeply with my own experience.
