Album Notes

On 'Breath of Rama' Geoffrey Gordon sings in the tradition of Bhakti Yoga with modern and traditional music. There is tremendous devotion and dedication heard in these chants with stunning musicianship and production. 'Breath of Rama' includes an angelic choir as Bansuri flutist Manose known for his work with Deva Premal. Geoffrey has produced CDs for several artists including Shiva Rea 'Yoga Trance Dance'; Walela 'Unbearable Love'; Diana Rogers 'Unveiled'; Jai Uttal, Geoffrey Gordon and Jai Lakshman 'The Hanuman Chaleesa: Songs in Praise of Hanuman'; Swami Vishwananda 'Love Beyond Word's I and II'. Geoffrey performed and recorded with Walela, Robbie Robertson, David Torn, Elliot Goldenthal, Julie Taymor, Carter Burwell, Tulku and many others. He played on many Jai Uttal CDs including 'Monkey', 'Beggars and Saints', 'Shiva Station', 'Spirit Room', 'Nectar', and 'Mondo Rama'. Geoffrey played tabla and sang alongside Jai Uttal on all tours and concerts from 1992 - 2003. He worked with Ram Dass at Omega, Hollyhock, Breitenbush, in Costa Rica, Los Angeles, Austin, North Carolina, Maui and played all the drums on his CD 'Chord of Love'. Geoffrey has recorded with Krishna Das, Bhagavan Das, Peter Kater, R. Carlos Nakai & Nawang Khechog, Gabrielle Roth, Coleman Barks, Little Wolf, Sukhawat Ali Khan, and Stephen Kent. He was in the cast of several Broadway shows including M. Butterfly and Juan Darien. He taught on the faculties of Sarah Lawrence College and City College of New York.
