Never alone, but not always aware of that simple truth; that truth which can totally change your perspective of anything. Sometimes it is revealed in the little details.
-------------
For sometime now I have described myself as frooky. A frook (noun) is someone who is intensely into the details. Describing someone as frooky would mean the individual is displaying frook-like tendencies. All will “look” but not all will “see”.
If you are a frook or have frooky tendencies (frookiness) you usually are more aware of details that go unnoticed by others. This can be a blessing and/or a curse. On the downside, you can get so much into the details that you can’t see the forest for the trees. Most frooks have a couple of creases in the skin between the eye brows. On the upside, you appreciate that little things (more often than not) do mean a lot.
This tendency could be why my music usually has a recurring theme dealing with, at some point, an interaction between people. The little details – tension (in any form), a slight hesitation, the tilt of the head, flip of the hair, slightly leaning in any direction, widening eyes, an opened hand, etc. –can be inspiring. By inspiring I mean that little detail that tunes me in to the frequency that gets the music flowing; the little detail that slips the gatekeeper a twenty to open the music box in my head.
When the box is opened, this music is as much visual to my mind’s eye as it is audible to my mind’s ear. There is really no visual/audible distinction in my head; I am just trying to use words to explain the “mind-music”. I often agonize over lyrics to describe what I see/hear in my head. This CD is a pretty accurate translation of that “mind-music”.
My good friend, Jason Gonzalez, whose talent with the guitar and piano are evident again and again on this CD, knows what it is like to work with or endure a frook (maybe you do too). I personally think he is a better man for it.
Buy this CD and listen to it with headphones and your eyes closed so you don’t miss any of the little details. It’s okay to be a little frooky! You may even catch a glimpse of some mind-music... I hope so!

Reminiscent
author: Becky
This album is reminiscent of the old 70's Pop Ballads. If you were ever a fan of Paul Davis you will love "I Can Be Me". Folksy, ballad filled, heart felt songs.
