Album Notes

We’re all 2 people, aren’t we? There’s the ‘you’ that gets up early, goes to work, pays the bills, feeds the cat, tips the waiter, takes out the trash. And then there’s the fun ‘you’. The ‘you’ that you wish you could be a little more. The ‘you’ that hangs out with friends at the bar, that occasional runs a red light at 3 am. The ‘you’ that says “hell yeah” when everyone else is saying “ooh, I’m not sure if I should”.

That ‘you’ is me. The evil twin. The side of you that knows better but does it anyway. Sure…I get you into trouble. But I’m the side of you that has no regrets. I’m the part of you that’s trying to live while the rest of you is trying not to die.

Should we start with the truth or the lies. I've always been good with one and horrible with the other, but which is which? Ask my brother. He'll tell you. There's something about a guitar that's very liberating. When the strings are buzzing and humming, all of daily constraints of jobs, bills, bad drivers, and pricks who don't like you (yeah...especially them) all become so much less important than what's in the room – here…now. That thing you wanted to tell your boss when he was publicly berating you about your "inefficiencies" can now be voiced. The thoughts that had escaped you when you were fighting with your girlfriend/boyfriend become streamlined barbs. This is the place where freedom lives.

Live a little.
