Geoff is really getting around with his catchy "podsafe" music. Just check out music.podshow.com and see.
And now in conjuntion with CD Baby, Geoff Smith is up on iTunes!!!
Geoff is a little bit serious and a little bit out of his gourd.
He began his career in the music biz as a kid, growing up on the road with his father, also a musician. So it makes sense that writing tunes and playing gigs is what he really digs doing.
Geoff originally studied theatre at Boston Conservatory, and it was while Geoff was acting all over the US that he started writing and performing in both his own band and in other groups.
Living in Austin, TX led him to gigs in Europe (he lived in Holland for a year) and the Caribbean, which led him to studies at Sir Paul McCartney’s Liverpool Institute, which led him back to the states, where he writes, plays, works as a producer, and has a wonderful wife and daughter.
Geoff is a proud member of the Podsafe Music Network, and can be heard on countless podcasts.
Some of you might know Geoff from his little jingles heard on Adam Curry’s Daily Source Code Podcast.
Geoff is has actually been doing the theme music for numerous podcasts these days.
Geoff has also been an Entertainment Director of the Big Bang Piano Bars for several years now, and is also working as an engineer and producer at Studio East in Charlotte, NC.
If you are out at a karaoke bar somewhere, you will probably hear Geoff singing background with you as he is also currently providing his vocal talents to many of the top karaoke tracks out there today.

Great Fun Pop Experience
author: Dean Madonia
This CD is a lot of fun. Great songs, great production. I hate to compare anyone to anyone else, but if I were forced to, I would say that there is a definite Ben Folds influence (think "Rockin the Suburbs") on the production.
The songwriting style is quirky and fun like Folds with maybe some Joe Jackson and Todd Rundgren thrown in. Smith and the Wheels are mostly piano based with nice Beatles like harmonies, tight, smooth grooves.
This is fun "Cars-like" music with no trace of anger - the viewpoints are presented with a smile and occasional traces of melancholy. This is the kind of happy and mellow CD that could be your best friend on a hung-over Sunday morning while you tape up the window, pick up the trash and wash the dishes. Go getcha-self some.

These tunes represent a move back to well-crafted melodies.
author: Mr. Moose
What makes a cd interesting to me is when each song takes on a life of its own yet contributes to the overall musical thought of the project. Geoff Smith and the Tonewheels is a great example of this. Many may not get the joke of Not On The Radio but, nevertheless, it has an infectiousness that will capture non-Podcasters as well. As you listen, there will be obvious moments where the ghosts of Beatle-crafted fun takes place; which is where I still find my enjoyment musically.
