Like a Poodle and German Shepard going at it during a session of Congress
author: Muted Prophet
Since my childhood, I have been force-fed over-sugared and regurgitated 'love songs'. The same nonsensical fluff song after song, and many times found myself on the verge of dousing my head with gasoline and setting myself to blaze just to end the torture. But then I quite drunkenly stumbled upon George Earth, yes, I was maddeningly drunk and on the verge of collapse when I stumbled upon him. The way he played the guitar was carnal, raw, I was bothered by the way notes that should have blended instead collided and exploded. It was like watching a Poodle and German Shepard go at it in the middle of a session of Congress - I was transfixed. His CD 'Love Songs' is not really a collection of love songs (though he would claim to differ), rather it is an eery cornucopia of self-inflicted wounds each one offering another key to another door of hell. This CD rattled my insides, liquified them and then mixed them up into a smoothie of mush. Not heavy, not light, and nowhere near mellow. George has stumbled upon something - the perfect imperfection of sound. Hopefully, his next work will prove to be just as intriguing.
