Album Notes

This album was completed shortly before George began working with his current partner in crime, 89-year-old Julius Margolin. It features 10 of George's songs recorded with longtime collaborators Scott Supeck on drums and Brian Unger on guitar, keys and harmonies.

Released in 1998, it showcases the sounds George loves and grew up on before moving into a more folk-oriented approach to his later work with Julius. Highlights include "Sing Us Some Peace Songs," Disconnect Me," and "This is My Body," a stark song written for United Steel Workers of America strikers at Wheeling Pitt plants in 1997. It rocks harder than George's later works, but there are acoustic songs and ballads also.
