Album Notes

Slice of Life is the third solo recording project by Seattle singer-songwriter George Myers. It includes 14 tracks written over a 25 year time period, which partly explains the title. "Some of the songs on this were written many years earlier, like 'I Want to Be Your Friend,' which I wrote in 1977, and other songs I wrote as the project was taking place. I also wanted to have some fun and explore some of the different genres that had inspired my musical taste over the years, so even though it's definitely all 70's pop you can hear jazz, folk, country, and gospel influences in both intentionally sparse and full production settings. The overall effect is like pictures taken over many years of life." Myers, who has been writing and performing since he was 10, has been a member of three Seattle area groups over the years, most recently for the past 16 as a member of The Nowhere Men, a Beatles tribute band.
