Waiting for the Sound contains 56 minutes and 13 seconds of beautiful music that transcends geographical barriers for the listener. The ear is beguiled with the gentle qualities of the music. The composer, Gerardo Dirie, combines successfully his wide interests in sounds, poems, and electroacoustics, and has composed music that is both translucent in sonority and atmospheric in ambience. Spacious, beautiful, haunting, thought provoking

My impressions... The music brings to mind a strange and beautiful
landscape. And it really appeals to me because in my choreography I am
working with similar concepts of Space, Silence and Stillness. The
compositions definitely evoke these ideas. In La Espera, I really like
how
each instrument is given solo attention and the convergences of those
instruments/voices weave in and out of each other as if on a journey
where
different lives come together. The use of the silences are very
poignant. The Cd as a whole is haunting and thought provoking and I
like
the abstractness of it.

It is also fine, delicate, profound, clear and luminous, elegant and intelligent music.
