Loose, fresh and funny!

Stumbled on the GAS website by accident, liked the sample MP3's and wound up ordering the CD. I'm a veteran of a 60's garage band and unlike my contemporaries I like to hear thoughtful songwriting that' s not steeped in da blues. I liked the irreverance/humor of their material. Standout cuts were Civil War Reenactor, Hear It, Steve Vai Boyfriend and Shitty Directions. I've read the compairisons (Talking Heads, Jonathan Richman, Pixies etc.) but what also came to mind were the Young Fresh Fellows. Loose, fresh, funny! Wish I had teachers back then that were this cool.

Great follow-up to their first CD! Vocals are stronger on this one. The new songs are proof that GAS is a band to watch and nice to hear a few old favorites too.

i highly recommend this album on the strengths of its catchier and funnier tunes, including "steve vai boyfriend," "science teacher" and "civil war reenactor." i can't imagine life without these songs now that i've heard them.
