Album Notes

Gerry released his first album (Tobermory) in 2000, followed by Returning Fire (2004), Winter Grass (2006) and ex Patriots’ Day (2007). Each album displays the same care and craft in songwriting and covers a variety of musical genres, including folk, jazz, country, blues, roots, rock and pop – often in the same song! World continues this approach with 11 new meticulously written and performed songs. The album is true Canadiana and touches on topics such as choices (good, bad and missed), crossing the line, five star work, zombies in the room, and shepherds in the snow.

Joining Gerry on the album are keyboardist Steve O’Connor (Jim Cuddy Band, Blue Rodeo), guitarist Mike Francis (Ronnie Hawkins, Gordon Lightfoot), percussionist Brian Barlow (The Boss Brass, Tony Bennett), bassist Steve Lucas (Bruce Cockburn), violinist Don Reed (Jackson Browne, Dwight Yoakam) and vocalists Neil Donell, Lori Dortono and Ottawa’s own Ana Miura.
