I don't know Gery, but I was introduced to his music by my brother, Jeff, another reviewer, with whom I totally agree. Listening to Gery's CD, I was intrigued by his descriptive lyrics and intelligent musical styles. He's a storyteller worth listening to because he infuses emotion and mood into each song, making them each a unique story.

Great CD, lots of flavors, lots of ideas.

Right off the top let's get the disclaimers out of the way. I'm a friend of Gery's, but this does not mean I can't be objective. There are a number of reasons I like this CD. A couple of reasons are - There are a lot of types of music referenced on this album, Straight ahead rock, pop, reggae (world music in general), indie, experimental, even a little jazz and classical, but as different as all of these sound Gery keeps it under control. This is not one of those albums that jerks you from one genre to another, it flows together. The above mentioned music types are influences and flavors filtered through Gery's artistry not paraded out to show you how knowledgeable he is. The lyrics cover a range of ideas - the state of the world, love, confusion, loss, and just your basic what it is to be a human in these distorted times. This is the real stuff by a real artist. Oh yeah, you can dance to most of it.
