"THE BEST OF G. FUSTON"
Review by Peter Su "CIMRADIO.COM"

Some of the best smooth jazz recordings are found on this greatest compilation by Oklahoma City based producer and composer, Gary Fuston. The Best Of G. Fuston features beat heavy styles influenced mainly by hiphop. One of the more recommended tracks is Day After, which is a 100% radio ready song and features a brilliant and cool chorus section. Gary Fuston not only has hiphop in mind, but some tracks like Passion For Pleasure are more atmospheric oriented and is comparable to some of the soundtrack of Final Fantasy VIII. Another blend of smooth guitar and cool beats can be found on The A.M. Drive. Other smooth favorites from this greatest collection are When I Get There, In The Moment and Fade To Bass. If you're looking for pure 100% upbeat and cool instrumental music, then this is the CD you'll really want. Wouldn't be surprised if Gary signed on to a major recording label.

On Café Jazz, Canada's Smooth Jazz Connection
Heard It Before - Gary Fuston: Fuston has been involved in production work for the past 15 years or so, although his passion for music goes back much further. As a student he took up drums, percussion, & guitar. In the late 70's he was part of an R&B group and shortly thereafter he became interested in learning the engineering side of recording. In that connection, he set up his own studio and over the years has produced many artists from a variety of genres. In 1999, he introduced his own music online which resulted in over a million downloads and streams and the start of a worldwide fan base. His latest album titled the Best of G. Fuston, is a collection of 15 tracks from two previous releases on mp3.com which are no longer available to listeners. The music is a blend of acid jazz, jazz fusion, and smooth jazz and features guitar, strings, and piano layered with danceable grooves and rhythmic melodies.
