Album Notes

Ghettobillies play everywhere. Bars, restaurants, nightclubs, festivals, parties, you name it, they play it. Because of the wide scope of musical styles incorporated into the very essence of the band, Ghettobillies are one of the only unsigned bands in the midwest that can play 3 full length sets of all original material where the audience dances, laughs and sings along. The band is now sitting on a mountain of back catalogued songs. Topping over 75. And all are regularly requested, sometimes the same songs twice in one evening. Word is spreading. One of their songs has even been sung on The Howard Stern Show in New York by a hack named Johnny Mud Mudman claiming it to be his own.

Seriously good – resistance is futile.

This is superbly constructed and infectiously likeable music, coupled with inventive and often outrageous lyrics. “Panty Raid” is about a fondness for wearing panties (with the line of the album: “I want to feel satin next to my skin, and I don’t feel any less masculine” – rhyming of the highest order). We also have tales of cross dressing with “Steve”. Then there is the self explanatory “My First Porno”. Don’t be fooled by their predilection for somewhat ‘off the wall’ subjects however. “Whatever Happened” is a real subtle and from the heart type of song that shows a contemplative side to their music.

I LOVE THIS CD! This is the most upbeat variety of music I've heard in a long time and I get a laugh every time I listen. I have turned so many people on to this CD. I even have been asked if Ghettobillies would consider making a Karaoke CD. Its Great! Thanks
