GHOSTRUNNER Beneath The Apocaliptic Rain (Driving Rain)
This is one of my favorite independent releases this year (1993), for a few reasons.
First, the sound is original. It could best be described as sounding like Pink Floyd B-Sides perfonned by the legend~ ary 70's punk band, The Sex Pistols.
Secondly, it's a good consistent listen; while it doeshave its standout tunes (check out "So Electric" and "Life In The Nineties"), it is best appreciated by listening to it as a whole. In a sense, it is a concept album about "what will happen to America if we don't change", although it may bke a few listens to catch on.
Lastly, this album has some of the best lyrics I have ever heard, by an indie or national: This from "Quiet Side Of Town"; "Even during the day the playground looms coldand dark; Soldiers of Fortune replace hand-in-hand lovers walking in the park" Buy this album-which is destined to become an underground cult classic.

... a full blown rock experience
author: BUZZ Magazine "The Fabulous Sounds"
What started out as a solo acoustic project for Tim Livingston (ex- Albany punk immortals The Morons) has turned into Ghostrunner-Beneath The Apocalyptic Rain, a full blown rock experience and the continuation of stellar local product . Aided by Al Kash, perhaps the finest drummer in all de land, and super bassist/guitarist Bob Van Detta, LivIngston has put out a record that runs the full spectrum of rock with nary a bummer to be found. For sheer punk fun (and clocking in under 2:00), there's "About You", go to the dark side of the moon with '"Ghost Town" ,an eerie ode to loneliness, and for the real gem, check out the semi-acoustic "On The Quiet Side Of Town" a mesmerizing tune that features gorgeous female backing vocals that complement Livingston's desperation. A lot of time and sweat has gone into this project, and it shows.
