Album Notes

Peripherie is the music of Guy Hall, a UK based drummer who gigs, composes and teaches.Ardour is his third album. The all instrumental tracks are in the Jazz, Latin, Rock, and Classical styles. Melodic/harmonic influences include Middle Eastern, Western Classical, such as Holst, Vaughan Williams, John Adams and Charles Ives, and also rock such as King Crimson and Frank Zappa. Some of the songs were inspired by such writers as Lord Dunsany, H.P. Lovecraft and F. Scott Fitzgerald. The music can be very cinematic at times, much inspiration came from three trips to the far east in the last five years.
UK Drum Magazine "Rhythm" says "What a bizarre and catholic musical vision this ker-azy Brightonian has. King Crimson type prog. rock right through to some right tasty avant garde jazz pieces, all played by a cracking bunch of musicians.Very interesting!"
20th Century Guitar Mag describe it as "Very well done and excellent drumming"
CD Services UK says "Immaculate sounding tracks that are easy on the ear, compositions that have structure, direction and a melodic seam that runs right through them"
