Take a mystical musical journey to South Asia with this collection of Sufi, Pakistani Folk and classical Indian ragas. Songs for healing, songs of love. Ustad Ghulam Farid Nizami, a 17th generation musician from the Senia Gharan tradition, offers music that has been passed down from his ancestors. Arrangements range from traditional to a rhythm soaked contemporary version of a Rajasthani folk song. Recorded in Austin, Texas in 2010.
" ... a small window into the heart and soul of the subcontinent... Mesmerizing, passionate, and spiritually ecstatic, the songs on this disc will reverberate with your soul even if you’ve never experienced this type of music before." -- Amanda Quraishi, Tikkun Daily Blog, August 2010
" ...exotic, spellbinding" -- Austin Powell, Austin Chronicle, November 26, 2010

Exquisite
author: Marion Mlotok
The first time I heard Nizami sing, I was standing. I would have fallen down if I wasn't leaning against a wall for support. He's that powerful. This CD is absolutely exquisite. Some people are keeping it in the car driving with it on, but I can't do that. I fall deeply into the music. It's a very beautiful and remarkable CD with a rich sensual texture to the weave and rhythm of the music.
