Gib Guilbeau

Singer, songwriter, musician
Gib started playing music when he was fourteen. He founded a few bands in the early 60's like Darrell, Gib and Ernie, Four Young Men and The Castaways. A lot of singles were released by the bands. After those bands broke up Gib formed with Gene Parsons Cajun Gib & Gene. They recorded an album (with Clarence White) which was released years later (1973).
In 1967 Gib Guilbeau, Gene Parsons, Wayne Moore and Clarence White formed a new band, their name was Nashville West. The only record released under the name Nashville West was a live album but Nashville West played on several recordings for other artists.
1970 Gib had a band called Swampwater. They recorded two albums and were the tour band for Linda Ronstadt. During the early 70's Gib was a requested studio musician and recorded a few singles and albums.
1974 Gib was asked by Eddie Tickner to reform The Flying Burrito Brothers, together with Sneaky Pete Kleinow, Gene Parsons, Chris Ethridge, Joel Scott Hill and later Skip Battin the Burritos recorded a few albums and toured around the world for the next few years.
Between 1980 and 1987 - now the name shortened to The Burrito Brothers - Gib Guilbeau and John Beland scored 9 country hits and recorded a few albums. In the 90's Gib toured and recorded again as a member of The Flying Burrtio Brothers.
In 2001 Gib teamed up with old fellows Wayne Moore, Darrell Cotton & Ernie Williams and recorded an album under the name Brothers.
Gib Guilbeau's songs were recorded by The Byrds, Rick Nelson, The Gosdin Brothers, The Dillards, Rod Stewart, Larry Murray, Bruce Oakes ... .
