From SPARTANBURG, SOUTH CAROLINA comes a artist who takes his music serious and is well deservant of the respect and praise he recieves from dj's, magazines, and fellow recording artists.
Born Daryl GIST, g.i.i.s grew up in a household filled with music because his grandfather was a dj and he had all the old soulful music that was a must have for black households.
G.I.I.S, began rapping and started writing his own songs at the age of 10.
At around the age of 16 he had a manager who told him to roll with the name gist since everyone called him that anyway, which was a great idea.
G.I.I.S ran with the name gist but he changed the letter to actually make it mean something instead of just his last name, thats how he got G.I.I.S ( GOD INSTRUCTED INDIVIDUAL STRENGTH).
G.I.I.S has made a few mixtapes and recorded an underground cd with DVINESIN, his rap partner from highschool(SPARTANBURG HIGHSCHOOL) where he graduated in 1998.
G.I.I.S eventually moved to HARRISBURG P.A

Now G.I.I.S is setting out to be a major figure in the hiphop world and by the look of things he is well on his way.

G.I.I.S submitted ( on a mission ) to cooltouchpromotions magazine out of atlanta and they review the album with great ratings quoting " new artists take notes from this man here" .

G.I.I.S is a rising star and with the right boost and support from devoted fans he will make his mark with great great creative music.
