"SACRIFICIO VIVO" (LIVING SACRIFICE)

In addition to being Gilberto's first album as a solo vocalist, SACRIFICIO VIVO includes guest appearances by various talented vocalists including Elgin Johnson, Jennell Avila and Fernando Diaz. The musical arrangements were crafted by the innovative young producer Francisco Diaz. Among the participating musicians are well-respected instrumentalists such as Chuck Escamilla, Michael Zilber, Dennis Campos, Larry Delacruz and Spoony Johnson.

Stylistically, SACRIFICIO VIVO is a pleasant fusion of various musical genres. From the rhythmic MAYOR ADORACIÓN, which is a unique blend of jazz, salsa y hip-hop, to the tender ballads EN SACRIFICIO y VENGO ANTE TI (these are also performed in english), the classic bolero EL VERSO DE MI ALMA, testimonial anthems POR ESO TE AMO y JESÚS ES MI SEÑOR, the Acoustic Latin cuts ENTREGA TOTAL y GRACIAS MI SEÑOR, or the Alternative Rock Y TE CANTARÉ and THE OFFERING OF MY LIFE, undoubtedly SACRIFICIO VIVO has something for everyone!

The lyrical concept presented is "Living Sacrifice", based on the Apostle Paul's words to the Romans "I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service" (Romans 12:1 NKJV). People often boast of their devotion to God by saying things like "I'm willing to die for Christ!" Today more than ever before the words of Paul to the Romans should indicate to us that God is more interested in us living for HIM. Of course, the willingness to die for Christ is a noble thing, but it is even more noble and impressive to be able to LIVE FOR HIM. THIS IS THE GREATEST OFFERING. EVERY SONG ON THIS DISC WAS WRITTEN TO SUPPORT THIS CONCEPT.
