Gildardo Alvarez “The charro that sings to the purest Mexican style” was born in Tecalitán Jalisco Mexico, and from there comes his form to be simple and very in the style of province.
Since an early age he was characterized by a powerful and in tune voice and every time there was an opportunity he participated in scholastic and cultural events. It is here in his beautiful town where Don Silvestre Vargas, founder of the "Mariachi Vargas of Tecalitlán" (worlds most famous mariachi music group), listens to him and encourage him to record his first disc titled “Bandolero”, written by Joan Sebastián and directed by Pepe Martinez.
This Song was placed immediately between the most requested and it became the reason why the public baptized him with the nickname of “El Bandolero”. This material is promoted in

Gildardo enters to the TV training Center of Televisa and he participates in some soap operas but decides that singing is what he wishes de most that is how he comes to record his second titled disc “Gran Reportaje”, in which it contains the participation of the master, Fernando Z. Maldonado, who took charge of the musical direction. He was promoting this material when he had a horrible motorcycle accident, from which it took a year almost for him to recover to be able continue with his career.
“Gil Alvarez con banda” is his third production where we can listen to him interpreting songs by Fato, such as: ” Dice que si que no” and “ pilon” which by the way was nominated to the U.S Grammies, in this CD he also recorded songs by Leo Dan like: “Te he prometido” but to the rhythm of “banda sinaloense”, rhythm that would have a great impact in the U.S. Always in the search of innovating with Mexican music, he records his fourth album titled “Hoy te extraño” in where he interprets songs by Ricardo Ceratto including the sax to the instruments of the mariachi, that with the direction of Chuck Anderson, gave a touch of incomparable romanticism. With this production he became well known in the United States appearing in dances and events in all the state of California including the traditional concerts in Pico Rivera.
“Te reto a que me olvides”, was the following production where we could find successful songs like “Derrotado corazón” and “Por qué”. This CD was promoted in TV shows like “Hoy mismo” with Guillermo Ochoa, “En vivo” with Ricardo Rocha, etc.
In his sixth record material titled “Gildardo Alvarez” he gives us “Cuando vuelvas a enamorarte de mi”, which had a great acceptance and due to the excellent video which was recorded in movie quality, this takes him to participate in the big screen sharing credits with recognized figures of the Mexican cinema like Mario Almada, Rebeca Silva and Hugo Stiglitz, in the film “Miel amarga”.
Alter living for some years in the U.S., Gildardo comes back to México to produce his album titled “Casi un angel” in which it’s production was in charge of Fato and where we can find songs like “Y te me vas” and “Cuando menos lo esperaba” video clips that where also filmed in movie quality, showing as well his very own style in Mexican music.
His eighth material is titled “Mi resto”, which is quickly placed in the taste of the public with the songs “Pero me acuerdo de ti”,” Por que yo te amo” and of course “Mi resto”
Participating in TV programs like “Hoy”, “Fiesta Mexicana”, a massive event that took place in the capital of the city of Mexico where the public received him with a great sense of expectancy and in the “Teletón” and Master Show.
