The twelve tracks, which were recorded with the famous Lazarito Valdes and his orchestra "Bamboleo", in Havana, Cuba, compose a rare collection of songs drawn from a repertoire of Cuban and Latin American songs from the late forties. With innovative arrangements, the Cuban musician Lazarito Valdes has blended earlier melodies with contemporary Latin sounds. At times somewhat jazzy, he leaves untouched the sentimental evidence of the tunes as known in their heydays when people lived their lives under the inspiration of these boleros.
Gina G. sings these boleros with her unusual powerful deep voice. Together with Lazarito Valdes, they combine their musical talents, to bring this music to life again. The listener can clearly recognize the Latin jazz elements featured on piano, harmonically blending with the sounds of trompet, clarinet, bass and Latin percussion.

Estos doce temas conforman una coleccion de canciones extraidas de los anos cuarenta. Con arreglos innovadores Lazarito Valdes ha mezclado las melodias originales con sonidos a veces un tanto de Latin jazz, dejando intacto el testimonio sentimental de las melodias como eran conocidas en sus anos de auge.
Gina G. interpreta los boleros con su voz profunda y poderosa que te llenan el corazon. Junto con Lazarito Valdes combinaron talentos musicales, para revitalizar de nuevo esas melodias que tienen elementos de jazz del piano, mezclados con los sonidos de la trompeta, el clarinete, el contrabajo y la percusion. El disco fue grabado en Havana, Cuba con el famoso Lazarito Valdes y su banda "Bamboleo".
