Gina La Piana is originally from Brooklyn New york. She was raised primarily in Corona California by her Father. She was a little "performer" from the time she could walk. Her dad Tony being a brilliantly gifted Guitarist/vocalist raised Gina on a strict diet of The Rolling Stones, Cat Stevens, Journey and many many more legendary bands. She remembers sitting at his feet creating songs together. They were the happiest memories of her youth. She had planned to become an actress being inspired by "I love Lucy" starring Lucille Ball, which became her favorite obsession growing up. But Gina found herself doing what came naturally to her and was signed to a major label deal at a very young age. She juggled an acting career, booking her first TV series at 17, and signed with Columbia records in an all girl group. Gina also received a partial scholarship to the esteemed "American Academy of Dramatic Arts" where she intensely studied classical theater and film and tv acting for three years.
After much recording and touring and performing with some of her idols, she realized she would never be content being part of a "group" environment and that lyrically she had a lot to say. She left that girl group and signed with Randy Jackson as a solo artist. She has written songs for many projects including the magical hit television show "Studio 60" created by one of her Hollywood heroes Aaron Sorkin. On her episode she performed two of her original songs "I don't want to start over" and "Fly Away", which scored the episode. In addition, she acted opposite Matthew Perry in the same episode. She's currently working on two major soundtracks for Marvel Comics owner Avi Arad's production company. Lastly, she is consistently hired as an actor, acting most recently on shows like "Everybody hates Chris" and "Criminal Minds". Her biggest goal is to do a television series whereby she can combine her acting skills with her love of and her joy for music. Gina La Piana happily resides in Los Angeles California.
