The new CD from GinaMark is full of Gina DiMia’s tasteful and honest vocal performance.
When she puts the lyrics out to the listener you can feel her passion behind her performance.
The first song on this CD is a remake of Mel Torme’s classic the Christmas Song (a.k.a. Chestnuts Roasting on an Open Fire). The song is done in a jazzy pop style a bit reminiscent of the Carpenters. The instrumentation on the arrangement is nicely done with Mark Alexander laying down the rhythmic keyboard lines and Gina covering the acoustic and electric guitar parts. With a nice back beat of bouncy bass lines and straight ahead drums the song is a fresh upbeat take on an old favorite.
The second song on the CD is a GinaMark original Christmas Eve. Gina delivers a beautiful lead vocal on this song. A slow ballad, Christmas Eve is full of dreamy, ethereal synthesizer pads, lush backup vocals, and is wonderfully produced. Listening to these two songs is sure to put you in the Christmas spirit.
