Co-founder of the SFCJQ, saxophonist and composer Steve Heckman "creates an extravaganza of beautiful tenor playing", and has performed with such as Howard McGee, Roswell Rudd, Andrew Hill, Bennie Green and many other.
Pat Klobas is known as a creative bass player and composer in both classical and jazz fields from the SF Opera to The American Jazz Philharmonic. Drummer Ron Marabuto worked in NYC with Pepper Adams, Roland Hanna and Rufus Reid.

Surprisingly good

Don't let the local band write look fool you. This is great jazz. It is also one of those disks that non-jazz fans would like. I bought it for Mussorgsky in Marrakesh after hearing it on the radio. It is really beautiful and worth the price of the CD.
