Ginny Wilder's songs are good stories set to music. "Lessons in Life and Love" is a blend of original folk music, a little country and a little splash of rock and roll. Ginny has an uncanny ability to strike a nerve or heart -string in the listener to the point of moving them through each emotion the song is conveying. Her 3rd CD, "Lessons in Life and Love" is a collection of such stories ranging from sweet and simple with "Little Boy, Little Girl" to the complexities of post break-up realities in "Hit or Miss". Life and love are always the basis for any story- whether it is yours or someone else's.

Ginny has been compared to Natalie Merchant, Tracy Chapman, Toni Childs and Catie Curtis. Her performance is graceful letting the song take center stage and inviting her listeners to think, hear, feel and enjoy. Ginny's stage presence and delivery is always geared towards the audience, playing with their emotions and leaving them wanting more. With a mixture of stories, songs and laughter, Ginny Wilder delivers a night to remember and a song to go home thinking about.

Lessons in Life and Love combines the musical expertise of Fran McKendree as producer and some very talented and gifted musicians to offer up a CD that will satisfy the listener. This is by far the best Ginny has ever sounded and a sign of things to come.

  • Humor, love, and more

I had the special treat this last weekend of sitting in a friend's living room with a small gathering of friends to listen to Ginny Wilder play her guitar and sing to us all. The stories she told before each song made the songs even more meaningful to us all. I was mesmerized by her musical story telling and I encourage everyone to experience this woman's music for themselves. Thanks Ginny for a great evening.

Ginny could not put more into her writing. Her tales of realness straight from the heart hit right where they should causing you to feel them more and more with each listen. Her beautiful lyrics and beautiful voice spread delightfully throughout this album spare you the flashiness and offers you plenty of goodness in it's place. if you haven't had the chance to see her live yet.. Do it! It’ll hit you even harder.

  • "Lilting, soaring vocals; imagery right out of a southern fairy tale..."

Ginny doesn't just write songs-- she creates a colorful quilt made from unflinchingly honest stories and experiences...

This is an absolutely amazing disc. It should be in every CD library. I have passed it on to many and plan to recommend it to many more. The passion in both the music and lyrics is beautiful and truly speaks to the heart.

I was browsing this site and came across this cd. I knew from the first listen that I had to have this cd. To make things short---I got it for a x-mas gift and I honestly haven't turned it off to listen to any other music. I love the cd as the songs speak to me personally. I can reflect on my own experiences of love and life...come on and lay your baggage down...it could have been written by me!

This CD is a must have for all music lovers. Ginny Wilder is a wonderful singer/songwriter and this CD is her best work yet. As soon as the music starts you'll drift into her world and feel like her stories are your stories. This is a great CD!

  • Captivating and earnest!
    author: Julie

Ginny's voice wraps around you and squeezes chills down your spine! Her lyrics are real-world honest, not flowery, showy, or over-wrought, and put forth in a way that is very tangible to the listener. Her melodies are hypnotic. This became one of my favorite, "essential" CDs instantly! I have not heard an artist with this impact in a long time...
