Album Notes

Gino and the Lone Gunmen is a 3 piece band that performs a lively mix of Swing, Rockabilly, Jump Blues and Vintage Rock and Roll. The group is led by guitarist and singer Gino Meregillano. Gino has performed in the past with rockabilly favorites such as the Guana Batz, No Dice and Levi Dexter to name a few. This CD also features Jonny Bowler on the stand up bass. Most well known for playing bass and drums with the Guana Batz, Jonny has also performed with Hot Rod Lincoln, Caravans, Wanda Jackson and many more. Rounding out the trio on drums is Hal “Junior” Smith. Hal is a popular Jazz and Swing musician who has played all over the world. Smith has worked with artists like Carl Sony Leyland, the Hayriders, Big Rig Deluxe, the Rhythm Makers, the Yerba Buena Stompers and many others! Gino and Hal can also be heard with the group "The Hayriders".

"Gino and the Lone Gunmen s/t (Caspian Sees) It is in its original moments (which predominate, 8 to 2) that this rollicking set shines coolest: envigorating neo-rockabilly that swings with bouyant jive. Gino Meregillano's assured voice and crazy-legged Gretsch sweep up to dizzying Everycat Acme. And Jonny Bowler (Guana Batz, Buzz Campbell Band) and Hal Smith (New Eldorado Jazz Band, Carl Sonny Leyland Trio) are the roundhouse rhythm team that will not be denied. Grab her tight -- gotta move."
