"I’ve Been Thinkin’" is the debut album of Los Angeles based blues artist, Gino Matteo. Gino has come up through the ranks, playing continuously in the L.A. area since he was 17 years old.
In 2006 Gino won the West Coast Region finals of the Guitar Center King of the Blues contest and earned the right to play in the national finals in Chicago at the House of Blues opening up at a B.B. King concert.
"I’ve Been Thinkin’", is a compilation of stories relevant to Gino's struggles as an unknown musical artist trying to establish his unique songwriting abilities and performance style. The track selection is eclectic and doesn’t lend itself to genre classification. Some songs are rockin’, some thoughtful, others get you on your feet and grooving to the funk. Gino has a moving blues voice and passionate guitar style that touches everyone.
To classify this album is difficult. But, it brings blues from the streets of New Orleans and Chicago to the urban metropolitan area of Los Angeles, with a twist; creating “Urban Blues”. If Pearl Jam and Parliament had a baby that grew up at B.B. King’s house on Bourbon Street……...This is what you would get. Enjoy.
