Steve Girardi's modern jazz trio has been performing his original music in New York City and Northern New Jersey for over a decade.
Principal composer and guitarist, Steve Girardi has a unique sound that challenges the traditional boundaries of contemporary jazz. His talents on both acoustic and electric guitar result in a rich, ethereal fusion of musical genres.
World- renowned bassist, Mike Richmond, has performed and recorded with Miles Davis, Joe Henderson, Dizzy Gillespie, John Abercrombie, Chet Baker, Stan Getz and Ravi Shankar.
Drummer/percussionist, Mark Graham, has performed in the United States, Canada, Europe and Japan with numerous recording artists. His inspired style is both subtle and intense, which makes it instantly recognizable.
Their latest recording, Within Inside, offers an eclectic blend of acoustic/electric improvisation. The music is very enigmatic in that at times, it is soulfully energized yet conveys an understated intimacy.

very nice blend of technique and emotion

this cd is a very nice blend of technique and emotion. as a whole the cd is very evocative, displaying deft touch, solid composition, and a variety of influences. yet, the trio always manages to maintain their own "signature", and the cd stands on its own without need for any comparison or juxtapositioning to convention. extremely fine and skilled players all in their groove. it comes highly recommended.
