Album Notes

This 13-piece big band, lead by Pedro Giraudo, has captivated listeners around the world with its unique blend of South American grooves, Argentine folk songs, the passion of tango and jazz improvisation. Transcendent, rich, evocative music by a master composer
author: Harry the Hat
This album represents a subtle yet significant evolution in Mr. Giraudo's masterful compositions. The music is dense, colorful, passionate, powerful and swinging. His use of instrumentation is evocative of great jazz masters like Ellington and Mingus, yet its distinct folkloric flavor is unique to the genre. Great stuff!

This is one of the most passionate recordings I have heard in years...
author: Willie Martinez
This recording is one that compels the listener to truly "listen" at every turn. The music is indeed intelligent, but so much more. It is organic in its sensibility, and is executed with a passion that leaves one truly affected. It is a grand achievement when the quality and integrity of a composition, and its arrangement, suffer not one iota for its accessibility. Bravo Pedro, along with your stellar orchestra!

No better band has come out since their last cd...
author: Graciela Carriqui
and when I reviewed that cd, I said it was the best band I'd heard in years--so they still hold the title! Giraudo's sophomore effort is just as exciting as his freshman cd, 'Mr. Vivo'. The melodies, harmonies and rhythms are mind-boggling but, rather than alienating the listener, they challenge your gray matter at the same time that your heart rate rises, and you get happy feet! No mean feat, pun intended (insert groans here). I can't recommend this cd highly enough--and I said that about the last one. I'll be buying more copies as gifts.
