Now known as The Roger Girke Band, this CD was released in 2001 when Roger's band went by "Roger Girke & The Funky Twisters". This disc features twelve tracks of covers and orginals featuring Roger's guitar, vocal and songwriting.
Stylistically ranging from New Orleans funky blues to Chicago funky blues - and lots in between - the groove is strong here and the band is super-hot. Supported mostly by the same band as on The Roger Girke Band's 2004 award-winning release "My Baby Loves That Stuff", this CD posseses an organic sound and feel as a result of the live in the studio recording process. (A live in-studio session was set up in front of fifty people resulting in a real live music event featuring twelve "keepers" out of thirty tracks recorded in one evening)
This CD represents the real deal funky blues, played by veteren performers without pretense (or overdubs!) in front of a captive and enthusiastic audience.
The players:
Roger Girke, Vocals, guitar**
Ian Greaves, drums**
Bennett Sykes, Bass**
Glenn Bickel, Keyboards**

**Also played on the 2004 Teletone Records Release "My Baby Loves That Stuff"
