Girls, Guns and Glory are a good time Rock n' Country band. Their music rooted in early rock n' roll that is laced with traditional country and folk influences. A sound that's part Chuck Berry, part Johnny Cash and part Hank Williams all mixed together to spin tunes that talk of tears, beers and the years gone by.
"Girls, Guns & Glory are such a refreshing change of pace from most of the local music I review. Imagine The Outlaws (you remember them!) sitting around with folk guitars and hand percussion, singing out some cowboy love songs and you've got a rough idea of triple G's new album Fireworks & Alcohol.
Sporting Tex-Mex rhythms, cowboy guitars and virbrato rich vocals that skirt a western yodel, Girls Guns & Glory band members Ward Hayden on vocals & guitar, Bruce Beagley on bass guitar, Colin Toomey on guitars and Brendan Murphy on percussion kick up a qualified dust cloud of cowpoke tuneage sure to remind us of what country/western music should sound like. Long before country posers like Garth Brooks came along, country music was ripe with heartfilled sentiment fueled by jangling acoustic guitars and the clanging of spurs. Girls, Guns & Glory have recaptured all of that and more.
Ward Hayden's vocals sound eerily reminiscent of Chris Isaacs' voice with his rich timbre and Lone Star state inflections. He punctuates the project's credibility with his genuineness while bandmates Beagley, Toomey and Murphy add the icing. The outcome is strictly first rate.
If you're sick of the typical musical fare polluting your airwaves, Girls Guns & Glory have an intoxicating elixer just for you. Good stuff!" -Metronome Magazine (3/06)
"Girls Guns & Glory deserve credit for playing a very non-commercial form of country music. The songs are mostly acoustic, but don't lack for bite...they veer clear of pop cliches'...The music certainly has an authentic feel to it." The Noise (4/06)

This is an amazing band with a steadily growing collection of cd's, but their first one is a great introduction and lead into getting to know the rest of this band's cannon. Simply stunning!

Great Music, Great CD

I was handed this CD by Rob Loyot when I bought his Porsche 911. I love the car but the CD was the rare find on the exchange. This CD has unique sounds blended together. Streets of Laredo in particular takes some chances and they work.
