Album Notes

In his 5th CD Gladstone again finds humor and music everywhere. His subjects range from the perils of computer dating ("Lower Your Standards") to finding a drummer who can keep time ("Drummer of my Dreams") to a sad and hilarious ballad about losing one's hair ("Hair"). Several of the songs on this CD were recorded live in concert in Corvallis, Oregon. The title cut, Big Fish, tells the (true) story of Gladstone's adventures seeking the big time in LA. He returned to Oregon with a sharpened sense of humor about the music business (Major Label) and a renewed appreciation of ordinary life in a beautiful place (Blackberry, Landfill, Music to the People).

"Well-crafted lyrics set in memorable melodies..." -The Oregonian

"Witty and lucid, Gladstone takes us on a free-wheeling romp through a variety of musical genres..." -Time Out

"He is a thinking person's songwriter. His music tinted with intellectual irony, Gladstone surprises his listener with unexpected rhymes and melodic turns" - Folk Times

" Good schtick" - Billboard
