Album Notes

"American Dawg," the title song of Neal Gladstone's 2nd CD is a patriotic blues parody and a fan favorite (Audiences bark in anticipation when they hear the opening riff). "Grapefruit in Your Life" is both a satire on foodies and a hymn to 'the perfect golden jewel, succulent and cool'. Both songs were recorded live in concert in Corvallis, Oregon. "Officer Bradford" imagines a young girl's infatuation with the handsome cop who stops her for speeding. "Little Piece of Plastic" celebrates the joys of condoms, as told by a nurse who clearly loves her work. "Throat Man" is a rap parody about a doctor who knows 'every hole in your head'. Like all his work, this CD spans musical styles and moods, with a brooding ballad ("Dark Blue") about depression as well as a rocker (The Reaper) about the need for change before 'the whole damn thing could blow.'
"Well-crafted lyrics set in memorable melodies..." -The Oregonian
