War Of Words - written by Glen Foster, Parent Publishing - starts off with a low string guitar riff reminiscent of Roy Orbison's 'Pretty Woman' or the Beatles 'Day Tripper'. The lyric laments a communication gap wherein the vocalist is misunderstood and misinterpreted. However, the underlying current of the song refers to the Cuban Missile Crisis of 1962 and includes banter between US President John F Kennedy and USSR President Nikita Kruschev. The rumbling robotic voice heard at times is echoing the phrase 'Cold War'. The Glen Foster Group provides growling slide guitar and flowing electric guitar arpeggios, while slipping easily into an acoustic guitar driven bridge section before bringing it all back home with the multi-layered guitar riff.
