This songs speaks about how we can find a perfect rest in Jesus; we can trust in Him and lean on Him thorugh life's journey. We can rest in what He accomplished at the cross for us; there is not one thing more that we can add to what He has already accomplished at the cross for us. Jesus willingly died in our stead; He took the rightful "death penalty" for our sins before a Holy God. When we ask Jesus into hearts, and ask Him to forgive us of our sins, then we can find this total "rest" in Jesus. All "religion" is about you doing things and maybe getting to Heaven when you die. Jesus came not to give us a religion, but rather a personal relationship with God now made possible through His atoning sacrifice on the cross. Are you trusting in Jesus and leaning on His everlasting arms? If not, then invite Him in to your life today. He will come into your life and your life will never be the same (for the better!). Jesus came to give us life and to give us life to the full!
Glenn Ericksen and Marjie Brake have been featured artists at Camp of the Woods in Speculator, NY. They have also done concerts at the "Tabernacle" in Ocean Grove, N.J. and have performed for other special Christian events in the NY City area. I think you will be truly blessed by these two timeless hymns performed by Glenn Ericksen (violinist) and Marjie Brake (pianist). This was recorded on a beautiful "concert grand" Steinway piano at the SUNY Purchase campus in Purchase, NY. The sound was recorded and mastered by sound engineer Gregory Squires. He is an amazing sound engineer.
