Glenn Stewart is getting ready to launch his new debut self titled album which will be released on FLOODZONE RECORDS and distributed through ITUNES.COM and CDBABY.COM as well as various retail outlets across the US, CANADA, and ALL OVER SEAS MARKETS.
The self titled album marks Glenn’s first efforts as a solo artist. “I grew up playing drums and guitar before turning to bass in the early 80’s. I had some success with a band then and had some air play on MTV. The band came and went, just like the 80’s. Years after that, I entered the cover circuit hiding behind the bass guitar. I was approached by some fans asking me if I would be singing more songs at upcoming shows. It got me thinking… I purchased a new acoustic guitar and during the bands electric set, I would go up on stage and play a 45 minute set myself. The response was overwhelming and got me thinking that I need to be up front meeting the people and fronting a band”.
“SOUTH STATION was the name of the new project I had created and really launched me back into my first love, singing. During this time I started writing songs based on events that were going on in my life and my style of country-fied-rock-pop was born. I was listening to a lot of country radio and took a major liking to artists such as JoDee Messina, Phil Vasar, and the newer sounds of the up and comings. I approached a former colleague of mine with a demo that I had done in my basement and from there I was in the studio recording ( playing drums, bass, acoustic guitar and all vocals) for real, attending photo shoots, doing interviews and creating this thing called "Glenn Stewart", the band”.
Growing up in Auburn, Ma. About 45 minutes from the melting pot of rock music, Boston. Influenced by blues driven, southern rock styles of music with a love for a strong melody line with a hook, Glenn turned to country music to make his mark. Finding Producer and Engineer Jim Foster was just the icing on the cake to take the songs to the next level. Glenn entered the studio in September of '06 and turned out an 11 song autobiography.
Glenn and his management are certain that a national tour with all the fixins will launch after the first of the year as well as a video to be presented to CMT, GAC, and VH1 Country. Glenn is extremely confident that this time, it’s going to be done right and that the sky is the limit.
