For many years pedal steel guitarist Glenn Taylor has enjoyed playing inside and outside the box. His compositions combine elements from jazz, afropop, americana, and electronic music to create a pastiche of grooves and landscapes unlike any other.

We've all heard pedal steel guitar--that intriguing and/or irritatingly whiny instrment in country music. The instrument is only occassioally heard in other genres. The Glenn Taylor Orchestra takes pedal steel into new territories; after all, pedal steel guitar is an instrument, not a musical style.
