Album Notes

"I learned how to jam playin' the blues, and my travels here on earth are the receipt of my having payed my dues." Glenwood Smith

You're not going to find another blues album like Into The Wild Blue.
This is as original a blues collection as they come.
Glenwood Smith's creative diversity across a variety of genres, and in this case diversity within one genre, is what makes him the prolific songwriter that he is.
And in GSB tradition each one of the 10 songs on this list are as different in style and feeling from one number to the next.
Into The Wild Blue is a collection of traditional blues, jazzy blues, rock blues, blues ballads, spiritual blues, swinging blues and more. Each song being a testament to Smith's songwriting skills with his intricate chord structures, powerful lyrics and non-traditional arrangements.
The songs on Into The Wild Blue will not only move you physically but will stir the listener emotionally as well with gripping and soulful portraits of betrayal, longing, heartbreak, social injustice and the climatic spiritual song of hope, "God Is!"
These attributes make Into The Wild Blue the collection that it is; awesome jams and provocative lyrics from the mind and heart of a gifted writer, all brought to life by the enormous talent of the instrumentalists and vocalists who appear on this recording.
And in a break from GSB tradition Into The Wild Blue features three new lead singers: Jere Stryker with his killer version of "A Long Way From Heaven", Jo Hill's sultry voice on "Why Can't You See?" (she is also heard on "Millions Of People",) and the powerful vocal work of Kristen Nicole Smith in her rendition of "God Is!".
This CD also features another of Smith's many collaborations with guitarist Mark Earp, "Walked Out."
With the driving rhythm section, incredible keyboard and guitar work and Smith's emphasis on harmonies, Into The Wild Blue is one "wild" blues CD well worth having in any collection.

"Thanks to everyone who has been an intricate part of this dream, including you. Thanks for listening!" Glenwood Smith
