Glideascope is an artist/producer who defies simple categorisation taking influences from both contemporary and classical sources to create "soundtracks to movies never made."

In 2005, Glideascope appeared on the Winter Music Conference compilation CD, played live sets at Pacha in Ibiza and the Top 100 DJ Awards at the Ministry of Sound, London. This EP has been licensed by MTV for the documentaries "MADE" and "My Super Sweet 16".

Recently Glideascope recorded with the Prague Philharmonic Orchestra, and has a forthcoming album "Audio Cinematography" due for release Summer 2006.

    I first heard Glideascope through a Quick Time 7 link, and immediately enjoyed the music, the vid and the vibe. After struggling to try'n find the EP in several shops, I ordered online from CD Baby and was really glad i did. The tunes are sonic, rich, deep and wide. This is the kind of music that is so panoramic that it can both change, and change with, my perspective. All 5 tracks are now amongst my IPOD regulars, along with Karsh Kale, Danger Mouse, and MIA. -n

    Glideascope has found a sound that works for him and perfected it. The tracks on this EP feature hip hop and downtempo beats with sampled vocals and lush string arrangements laid over them. The mood is consistent throughout the EP, making this a great ambient CD for a rainy day.

    "Hip hop beats with some string instrument" -- What kinda madness (track 2). Who or what, even why, is Glideascope? Well, if you want to know what light is you shouldn't stare at the sun. And if you want to know what Glideascope is, you shouldn't look for an explanation in words. I'll try my hardest to convince you this is strong trip-hop music on the edge of sobriety; almost wavering to the bar to drink from the house-keg, but still, always, walking with an upbeat saunter of cosmic style, maintaining a dignity for the machinistic grace of this infitesimally orgasmic electronica music. From London, with much appreciation, we have received "Glideascope". This album is entitled, "With strings attached", and the cover art features violins crisscrossed on what appears to be a bedsheet. Erotic? Yes, if you find wooden instruments in consensual union a stimulation, but the breeding on the cover is what predicts the natural evolution this man (known only as Glideascope) has ascertained, and improved upon, the explorative endeavors of the likes of Bjork and a toned down Aphex Twin. This guy is amazing. To be a talent scout in this line of musical style and pass over "Glideascope" as an evolving artist of considerable worth, would be a travesty to the word "art" in itself. Even as a rock fan, even as a newbie to trip-hop, you can't deny quality and intrinsic flux when you hear it, and I can convey to you this man has a purpose on this planet: music. How beautiful is Russia? I can't say from optical illustrations, but I can feel from the opener "Devushka" which is dedicated to Russian beauty, that that land is lush fertility. From the hand clapping in the first seconds to the "I'm shutting down" mantra backed by the wavy synth and snap and triple snare runs, you find yourself on foreign soil with an audible Visa that never expires. "Glideascope" carries you away, the senses take over, a hush fills over your racketed mind, and all is well once with the world again. There's a certain element of psychodelia entranced in this album. Third song, "A moment's peace" is the soundtrack to a movie never made. A touch of Moby is present on this one, and it never wavers to sterility or advert commercialism. I recommend this album to those interested in being interested. Who dream of soulful pleasure, mind enhancing vacations and good rhythms, who need a touch of techno culture from across the pond. I recommend to you, Glideascope. I give this album an 8.5 out of 10 on the evolution scale.
