Shaun Frandsen and And-rea founded GLIS in the summer of 2000 as a way to express their love for electronic music and especially that of distinguished acts such as VNV Nation, And One, Covenant and Assemblage 23. The result of their efforts was a full-length album "Extract" that placed them in the same league as their heroes. "Extract" dazzled club-goers worldwide with a mixture of hard danceable beats and catchy, infectious melodies. GLIS songs started appearing on several high-status European based compilations such as Elektrauma 6 ("It's Empty In Her Eyes") and Cyberpolis 2 ("Nightvision"). Remix duties came in as well for bands such as EPSILON MINUS, AÏBOFORCEN and REGENERATOR.
In 2002 GLIS brought on board Karloz.M of the noise/EBM project Manufactura. He and Shaun conceived a more complex and developed sound for their new release entitled "Balance". Fusing together yet more influences like IDM and noise to their sound palette, they deliver a sharpened edge to the previously established "pop" sound of "Extract". Anno 2002, GLIS joined the Alfa Matrix stable.
