Album Notes

Glow was formed in St. Louis in the fall of 2002, when Brooke (L.A.), Steve (St. Louis) and Brian (St. Louis) met. After playing together for a few years under various names, they became Glow.

Their first release, the Gabriel EP, was released in January of 2003, and contains several of Glow's first recordings. Praised for its "lush", "ambient", "melodic sound" and Brooke's "ethereal vocals", Glow's Gabriel EP included their first single, "Gabriel". "Gabriel" has appeared on several compilations, including "The State of Synthpop 2003", a compilation cd comprising many new international electronic artists. Glow has also contributed a song to the 2005 compiilation, "The Fixx: An Electronic Tribute", and "The State of Synthpop 2005".

Glow's first full-length CD, Rain Theory, improves on the best of their 2003 EP, Gabriel. From the hard-hitting "Single" to the plaintive-yet-danceable "The Wind That Shakes The Barley", Rain Theory's layered musical textures and melodic vocals move in a more upbeat direction while still maintaining their emotional intensity.

The music of Glow has been described as an updated, modern style of post-goth synth-pop that blends the uptempo beats and sounds of retro with reflective, emotional lyrics. The mixture of guitar and electronica create a unique mood that is hard to categorize.
