Featuring the cream of the UK’s Jazz talent, this first compilation release by GLP is an explosive mix of music, whether your thing is cool bop or the big bad sounds of Steve Parry, tender instrumentals or just straight ahead, it’s all represented here. Secondly may I add that every single track is an original from the sparkling Jamil Sheriff Octet to the gymnastic dexterity of the Russell van den Berg group. Musicians from all over the country putting forward their contribution to today’s Jazz. There’s some mind blowing talent featured here and every artist on the compilation deserves top billing. Take Steve Parry for example, playing every instrument on his tracks…. Yes, that’s right!… every single one, Drums, Piano, Bass, Trombone’s, Trumpets and Saxes, surely one for the Guinness book of records! GLP is a brand new independent label based in Leeds, UK, specialising in Jazz, Funk, Soul and Blues based music. "GLP Jazz" is the first compilation to be released from their rapidly expanding catalogue. Two further compilations are scheduled for release later this year to include titles from GLP's Funk / Soul collection and also from their current Blues / Rock artists.
