The Goat Family is a seven-man jug band from San Francisco that plays original songs on a variety of traditional and homemade instruments. Their acoustic sound reveals influences ranging from Leadbelly to Nirvana and, with a percussion kit fabricated from luggage, lampshades, and saw blades, they generate an infectious, chugging dance beat. All We Need picks up the old-timey exuberance of their first cd Unstopperable, but adds even more eclectic instruments such as the Strohviol and the Rhythmwalker. Liz Keim, programmer at the Exploratorium says, “Captured by the originality of their lyrics and an impressive array of instruments, the Goat Family\'s music calls for me to jump out of my chair and dance.”
