I was born and raised in the tiny suburban town of Fair Haven, NJ, where my favorite haunts were the shores of the Navesink river and the woods and streams behind my house. My memories are rich in the games I made up for myself in the outdoor kingdom of my private world.
During high school I learned how to read music and play the recorder and the guitar, and I performed with a group of wonderful people at the weekly folk mass at my church.
Also, during high school, I met and fell in love with my one and only love, my husband Tom. We were married three months after I graduated.
It wasn't until after the birth of my son that I re-entered the world of musical performance, and I began to remember and sing the songs to him, that my mother had taught me. I got my guitar out of the closet, brushed up on some chords and starting playing children's programs at local festivals.
Over the following years I played where ever I could and toyed around with writing songs. But in 1997 I became a member of the Acoustic Musician's Guild, in Ocean County, NJ, where I gained skills and confidence to become a serious writer and performer of both traditional American, Irish and Scottish folk songs, as well as my own material. I perform at traditional folk festivals up and down the Eastern Seaboard each year.
I currently live in Manchester Township, NJ, on a farm with my wonderful husband, Tom, my brilliant son, Jacob and my adorable daughter, Hannah, as well as six cashmere goats, a horse, seven chickens, a cat, a dog and an African ball python.
My first album, "A Prayer and a Song", is due out for release during the last week of April. It contains 10 original songs as well as two traditional songs and one cover.
